Foam is one of the most overlooked, yet critical elements that go into a piece of upholstered furniture. Our commitment to the use of quality foam dictates that we avoid all of the many ways to shortcut quality in foam production. For example, by using inferior materials such as a filler called Calcium Carbonate, some manufacturers are able to lower the cost of the foam, but this practice shortens the lifespan of the cushion.
At Simon Li, we test each shipment of our various foams for content, hardness, shape loss, flexibility, density, and when required, local fire retardancy standards. These tests are done in our in-house laboratory that contains the latest in testing equipment and is constantly calibrated to be certain it meets industry standards.
